This half-day course is designed to give HR practitioners a thorough knowledge of the key concepts of international assignment compensation enabling them to become strategic partners to their business. 

Participants will come away with a firm understanding of how the home-based approach, the most common method of salary calculation, works. The course will also cover the various types of assignment allowances such as the cost of living allowance, location allowance (hardship allowance) and assignment allowance are provided and how they are calculated, market practice regarding calculation and how company policies impact assignee compensation.

The course will also ensure that delegates receive the most up-to-date information regarding market trends and best practice, and will explore how to communicate policy and assignment salaries to stakeholders.

All cancellations must be made in writing. Substitute delegates may be registered at any time. Where a registration fee is applicable, the full fee will be charged for ALL cancellations received less than TWO weeks before the course start date and for no-shows on the day. If a discount rate is offered at the time of registration, the discount is only applicable for the course(s) booked and cannot be transferred to a later date. ECA reserves the right to alter the agenda, speakers, dates or venue at any time.

It is ECA policy to issue invoices associated with our training courses after they have been conducted. If you wish to receive an invoice associated with this course before it commences, please let us know and we will endeavour to accommodate your request. Please note that registration for the training course is considered to signify your willingness to attend and pay the associated fees. Therefore, attendance is still expected even if the invoice has not been received/paid prior to the course.

Covid-19 Precautions

We continue to monitor the Covid-19 virus situation. Places are strictly limited in order to observe social distancing requirements and minimise the risk of virus transmission. We also reserve the right to postpone or cancel this event if deemed a necessary precaution. If we do so, in response to the Covid-19 situation, delegates can withdraw their registration with no penalty.

What extra steps are we taking?

  • Use of inhouse training venue: the session will be held on our premises, allowing for less human traffic in comparison to public training centres and hotels.
  • Temperature checks: building management will perform temperature checks on all attendees upon arrival which may be supplemented by further checks upon entry into our office. Anyone who displays an elevated body temperature will not be granted entry and their attendance will be transferred to another date.
  • Elevated hygiene measures: our training facilities will be thoroughly cleaned and sterilised prior to and upon completion of each training session and we'll take appropriate measures to reduce the likelihood of contamination of communal surfaces (such as door handles etc.).
  • Reduced class sizes: rooms will be set up for fewer numbers to allow for the maximum amount of social distancing.
  • Individually packed food and beverages will be provided for attendees where possible.
  • All ECA speakers are fully vaccinated against the Covid-19 virus.

What steps can you take?

  • Regularly and thoroughly clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water.
  • Wear face masks to safeguard yourself and others around you.
  • Maintain at least a 2 metre distance between yourself, our staff and other attendees.
  • Do not shake hands with our staff or with other attendees.
  • Conduct a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) on the morning of the training course prior to arrival at the training venue. If your test is positive, please do not attend the training course.
  • Stay at home if you are showing any symptoms, even if the result of your RAT is negative, or if you have been in close contact with a person who is suffering from Covid-19 in the week (seven calendar days) immediately preceding the course. Please inform us straight away so that we can transfer your registration to the next available date.
